Condemnation of U.S. Military Strikes on Yemen’s Port Infrastructure
WANA (Apr 18) – Esmail Baghaei, Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the U.S. airstrike on Ras Isa Port in Yemen, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of innocent Yemeni civilians and caused significant destruction to the port.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson described the U.S. airstrikes on Yemen as a clear act of aggression and a blatant violation of the fundamental principles and norms of the UN Charter and international law. He emphasized that these U.S. aggressions, carried out in full support of the Zionist regime’s occupation and genocide in occupied Palestine, have effectively made the United States a partner and accomplice in Israel’s crimes across Palestine and the region.
Baghaei warned that the continued U.S. military aggression against Yemen, including the destruction of the country’s vital infrastructure and the killing of Yemeni Muslims, not only emboldens the Zionist regime to persist in its atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank but also contributes to escalating insecurity in the region and poses a threat to international peace and security.
Extending condolences to the people and government of Yemen over the loss of civilian lives, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s solidarity with the resilient people of Yemen. He also called for an end to the global community’s inaction and silence in the face of gross violations of international law and human rights by the United States against the people of Yemen, highlighting the responsibility of Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in this regard.
